I like the coil spring bolt in kits, but I would like to hear from people who have both stock rear leafs, and coil overs. Also what is the best bolt in kit for it? thanks Tony

| | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 238 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 238 | I have the stock rear leaf setup with a DANA 44 rear and 8" wide rims on my 1950. This arrangement has worked fine for me with an early 350 small block up front.
Personally, I wouldn't rush to radically change the stock rear suspension on my own truck, but you don't say in your post what your plans are for the front suspension of your 51, or whether you want to lower the ride height a lot. I have installed a chevy 10 bolt rear with a TCI leaf spring kit. It lowers the rear equal with the Heidt's IFS. I haven't finished the project so can't brag yet. My engine is a Chevy 350 crate with 330 horse and not too strong for the rear suspension.
