She needs a "Ton"๐of work, however she came with all new front clip sheet metal in pretty good shape. I was told she was a "Crummie" which is why she's long with X-tra windows. Has anyone seen one like this before ? She's a C-30 with a V-8
Welcome to the garage Dexstar!. I have to ask though, what is a Crummie?

When I was a kid, the logggers and tree planters refered to vans, suburbans, and 4 door pickups as "crummies". To me it meant whatever hauled the crew around.

Short for "crew crummie"
Quote
(informal, British Columbia and U.S. Pacific Northwest) Small van, bus, or railway car used to transport loggers or other resource workers to and from the worksite. A common term when referring to a vehicle with a compartment separate from the cab, housing the silvicultural, logging or mining crew during transport.
Logging companies could be a good source for pristine pickup boxes. They would remove the box from a brand new pickup and install a crummie cabin in it's place. The unused boxes were stacked up in the yard.
Thanks for the definition! Growing up in the Midwest, I had never heard that slang before. Looks like a fun project.

Thanks 2-Ton! I'm in process of a tranny/ swap in her right now that turned into a tranny/clutch/rear main/propeller shaft brake/u-joints and carrier bearing swap so I have been to busy to respond.
Dexstar 64 I think a crummie is what the logging crew took to the job site, they would eat in it at noon so it would always be crummie, so that handle kind of stuck !
Dexstar 64 Commented earlier ,but it disappears ??? Anyway as I understand it a "Crummie" is a truck the loggers would ride out to the woods in. They would eat in the truck and get it crumby hence the name "Crummie" .
