I'm going to have to find a place on the bed or body to soda blast and get the original color for the owner. It now has a beautiful semi gloss black newer paint job. I guess I will take off one of the revit's on the ID plate. Is there a way to get a paint code off the S.#? Doc.

Try pulling off the mirror bracket if it has one on the driver's side cowl or look on the back of the cab or front of the bed that typically doesn't get painted on a repaint unless they remove the bed to repaint.

Also, as Greg H said, the cowl vent.

Carter carries Acrylic Enamel. I don't know much about this paint. There is no description about the paint; i.e., water based, thinner or hardener required, etc.
Can it be cut and buffed? I'm pretty much an amateur painter (rattle cans). I have a regular siphon type gun (recommended psi?).
Is it a long lasting paint, or prone to chipping or cracking, or is the urethanes better?

So far I have shot my engine with it, and it goes on nicely.
You can get better paint (aka more expensive), but it works well that I can see. I have not used it on sheet metal yet.

They worry the paint will burn from the heat. Most paint will start burning at 300 plus degrees? If your engine is running that hot, you have other problems besides paint. Exhaust manifolds are a whole nuther story.
So you can use almost any automotive paint on your engine. Make it match the body paint if you want.
