Hello! When I purchased my 1946 Chevy truck this spring the steering column, box, and wheel had been jimmy-rigged. I have no idea what order things go other than the shaft/upper bearing, retainer, and rubber bumper. I was hoping that someone had a diagram for the nut/spring/assembly (and anything in between) that they wouldn't mind sharing a picture of with me. The books and manuals that I have are very basic, and mainly deal with the vehicle assembly. Since I have nothing to go by, something is better than nothing.

Maria, the '41-'46 is changed from my '37, but similar idea. there is the bushing (bearing) with the single wire that goes all the way down the column tube and exits near the steering box and goes from there to the horn. the actual working parts; button, retainer, spring etc. are available at various vintage supplies. I found the best pictures and descriptions on Classy chevy (but not necessarily best price). The horn is wired hot and the horn button makes the ground, in other words, the single wire is not a hot wire but makes ground when button is pushed. If your truck had the original style wheel, the parts should all make sense and fit. Larry
