For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 67 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 67 | Hi all, I have a 51 GMC panel, SWB, with 6 bolt rims/hubs. It currently has a strong running 270.
The front end is worn out. I want to update it. I earlier found that you could update the brakes with a kit and a donor 80's GM car. I acquired an 81 malibu parts car. Can any of the power steering, suspension etc components be switched over to the original frame as well ? I dont want to clip the frame. I also have an S-10 rolling chassis on hand, but don't know if I'm ready to tackle that big a project. That is regarding the front end, I was thinking of an S-10 or blazer 4WD rear end for the width and brakes.
Any suggestions ? I'm adept at finding parts vehicles
Thanks
