I placed the rear groove of the rubber in the channel and then used a plastic trim tool and pushed in the front edge as I worked my way around. Windex helped. Took about 2 hours for the first one, then I got my technique down and cut an hour off that for the second one.

I put mine in hot soap water to loosen it up, then did the same with a plastic tool. A couple things that helped. If you use a paint can opener you can open the channel up in places it’s tight and use a squirt bottle with soap water to spray on rubber to help lube it up.

I seem to remember only taking 15-20 minutes per side. Maybe 30 minutes tops. Open up any pinched areas, wire brush the track, lube the rubber with dish soap, slide in one side, slide in the other side, then push and tuck the top area.

Mnsmith,

You are the man if you did it that fast. I spent that much time yelling cuss words!

My kids were at the neighbors and it was probably the most colorful words I have used in 26 years in the military! I’m sure we used the same ones and I might have invented a few.
