I’m looking for a drivers side door window/frame. What other years will fit this 1940 truck?
Chev of the 40 has one for the later 1947-1950. I have posted the picture of their window...
Will it fit a 1940?

Thanks,

Mike

I can narrow it to '39 First two piece windshield) - '46 ('47 begins Advanced Design) may narrow further to deco but can't be sure.

That picture shows a frame all the way round. The '40 doesn't have the trim around it. Just a track at the bottom.

How is it fastened at the bottom?

The glass is just wedged into the channel with glass setting tape.

Any idea if the glass shape and size is the same?

Also, the lower portion of the glass frame has tabs where the upper frame connects to.
Are those required for the tracks without frames?
If not, do I just cut them off?

It’s been a while since I built mine, but as I recall, there is a flexible corrugated piece that fits inside the opening in the door. the corrugated piece extends down inside the lower door, and is lined with a fuzzy material. I glued this into the opening using weatherstrip adhesive.
Gap at top of window sill ( bottom of window opening ) has a small trim piece with rubber wiper piece each side.
You can use your passenger side glass as a reverse pattern for drivers side. Glass shop should be able to cut out of lamiglass
