Hello All,

Can someone tell me what gauge was the original charging wire on a 47-53 truck 6v generator? Also same question for 12v 55-59 truck.

AD was 10 ga armature and 16 ga field.

TF was 12 ga/18 ga

Wire is cheap, always go larger if in doubt. 6V wires are large enough for most all 12V applications.

'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.
