This may be a paint & body topic, but this is a general observation. I’ve been sanding and painting my interior and have noticed the lack of primer under the paint. The exterior had primer. Have y’all noticed this too?

I know the interior of mine is original, absolutely no signs of repaint or other restoration. I agree, it appears to be no primer, just paint on steel. mine is a '57

Update. I’ve owned my 54 GMC for 41 years. It was also untouched except by Father Time and Mother Nature.I’ve been sanding the interior side of the doors to prep for paint. Interestingly there is no trace of primer on the door panels but the window trim bezels had black primer like the exterior. In the years working on this truck and others one thing I have learned is don’t be surprised at what you find or don’t find.

Agree with the "black sealer" appearing to be the base coat. Mine is 54.
