Sometimes normal condensation causes corrosion internal to the starter, and the physical action of operating the starter pedal removes that corrosion, allowing the current to flow and the starter to spin.
On the other hand, if it's a regular driver, then you may want to plan to get that starter out to a shop. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,832 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,832 | Worn starter brushes can cause an open circuit that keeps the armature from spinning. If it happens again, have someone hold the start pedal in the engaged position while you give the rear of the starter housing a moderately firm tap with a hammer. If that makes the starter spin, it's time for a new set of brushes. Jerry
