When I was teaching auto mechanics at a Tennessee state trade school, I told the assistant director of the school about the hammer trick. The next day, his Toyota pickup came into my shop on a wrecker. "Your trick didn't work" he said- - - - -as he pointed to a windshield wiper motor with a bunch of dents beaten into it!
