41 1 1/2 ton dump truck. 216 w/rochester.While revving engine there is a stumble or cough before getting up to rpm.Carb seams to be in order, viewed all Mikes Carburator vids every thing checks out. Maybe I dont know how to tune it correctly. Points look good, coil tested ok,Vacum advance functions with vacum test, although sort of sticky, plugs look good. Certainly confused.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I has a similar issue on a 235, adjusting valves and advancing the timing was the fixed it for me.

Just a couple of many things to check. But other will be along with more suggestions.

Shop manual a big help for initial timing

Good luck

Swap out the condensor. Been working with that subject recently and if you have one that’s less than perfect, a good one makes a big improvement.

In my experience, when my 261 was coughing and backfiring, it was because the timing was set too lean.

If the vacum advance is sort of sticky I would clean that and make it not sortof sticky and see what happens.
