My truck has size 15 inch tires. Would my truck look better with 16 inch tires and should I put radial or ply tires on the truck. I need some suggestions.

6.00x16 6-ply bias tires were the standard tires on 1/2 ton trucks
6.50x16 6-ply bias tires were a common factory option
Another option in 1954 were 15" 6-ply tires (7.0x16 5.5" rim width).
I have 15" TOYO radials on one of my trucks and 16" Cooper radials on the other (original rims). Both types of tires are blackwall and are about the same diameter (30-31"). They provide a smooth ride and do not seem to wander as much as did bias tires.

The 53 rides and steers better but the wheels look like roller skates in those big wheel wells. The bias ply are Cooper and after a mile the flat spotting goes away and they ride nice. They look like they belong in the big wheel wells. They do wander but it could be something else. I wanted to put 16" radials on it but there is so much good tread on the tires I would be foolish to spend the money.

The Toyo radials I have on original 15" rims on my pickup are as big or a little bigger diameter than the 16" Cooper radials on 650x16" rims on my suburban.
Both my trucks steer and track as nice or better with the 6-ply truck radials (properly inflated at 40-45 psi) than with 650x16" bias tires.
