Hey guys. My 47 2 ton is finally painted and starting to put back together. Obviously I’ve never done anything like this before and I’m struggling to find guidance on setting the fender welt. I’ve added a pic of the welt pinned in place. And yes I’m waiting on dry weather to clean up the inner fender and por15. Would the welt go in all 3 spots as shown? I have a separate piece of material for that open spot that came with my inner fender rubber kit. Assume the cord part of the welt always faces away from the truck? On the vertical sections too? Thanks
Looks good. Depending on the vendor you ordered from some have a v-notch were the bolts are some don't. I always repaint both the inner fender and the back side of fender. Keep bolts loose and place welt in (flat side down), cut notches where bolts are if necessary. measure twice and cut the notch about 3/8" (+,-). tighten bolts and your done. Doc.

Awesome. Thanks doc. And I said the cord away from the truck but I meant away from the wheel. It was not prenotched. Just a 20’ roll of welt. The inside of the fender is getting rubberized undercoating. I really should have cleaned and painted the inner fender before I painted the truck. Oh well. I’m learning a lot.
