If you do a quick search there have been a couple of similar threads lately.

Thanks-
I did find some some posts.
One thing I just realized is that this is a Huck
Brake: Adjusters are at top! And just a thin metal
flap over holes.
Anyhow, I was initially thinking- ‘No adjusters’ since I
saw no access slots at bottom.

So - this Huck Brake new to me.
Going out now to back off adjusters.
I’m posting a pic.

Ronusny,

This diagram will help you 'back off' the Huck adjusters. Also, I encountered the same type of problem a number of years ago on a 1972 C10. Here's a (THREAD) with a number of good ideas for removing rusted brake drums.

Good luck,

Good News:
I removed the huge rear drum from my 3/4 ton ‘53.
Here’s how I did it:
1) Removed wheel cylinder bolts and pushed on unit through openings in rear brake plate. ( actually used long bar and hammer )
2) Using 2 lb hammer I repeatedly hit sides of drum until it started to move. Some of these blows were glancing so as to add a turning force.

Note: I tried Unsuccessfully backing off Star wheels - very difficult access and these were stuck. No movement here.
Use goggles and don’t crack your drum.

The wheel cylinders are reproduced, but those Huck type drums are hard to find. Hopefully yours are still good.
