Is it possible that someone had filled in the stamped area at some point in the past? Have you checked the dash on the backside to see if you can feel the stamped indentions? Possibly use a mirror and flashlight and or using your hand you can verify that it was never stamped?

It was purchased by the m-o-w foreman when it was replaced by a newer truck.

All three of my 1954 USA Chevrolet 31XX series trucks how CHEVROLET embossed on the dash (2 Pickups and one Suburban). | | |
