hey guys some may know me some may not. ive always been interested in old trucks grew up in a 56 chevy, took me thing long to realize i wanted one, and i wanted a big bolt, so i bought a 54 gmc 350, looks like it was drug up with the titanic. bought almost all the sheetmetal for it and i havent done anything with it since. (july 2020) fast forward to now (october 2020) after i realized i couldnt do what i wanted with my 54 gmc, and realizing just how hard it was to do anything. i went looking for a taskforce truck. i find one halfway across the country, my father an i cannonballed there and back (3 days total 57 hours of driving round trip) picked myself up a 1958 chevrolet viking 60, in absolutely impeccable condition, and the gentleman i bought it from had another truck that was so nice my father bought that (48 chevy 1.5ton) so i got it home got it running pretty easily, it runs perfect, drives good, (yard driven as it has no brakes) the pto works so the bed actuates. and if anyone has seen classic truck rescue "tinker" was the name of the truck that inspired me, where im going to turn it into a car hauler. im completely replacing the brakes right now (lines, fittings, wheel cyl rebuilds, master cyl rebuild, new linings for the shoes, and having drums checked incase they need to be turned. it fires up and runs, the fun part will be when it comes time to replace the wood between the bed and the frame. i think im going to need a crane to lift it but we will worry about that when the time comes. im no stranger to building a variety of cars check below for what i have in my current fleet. but these big bolts are challenging me. cant wait to get it on the road and i absolutely cannot say enough about the help i have received here, its amazing and these fellas are super knowledgeable. anyways thats a little about how this started for me. if i can answer any questions about what ive done so far to help someone else out feel free to give me a shout!
