I have a 1954 1300 with a (SM240) 4-speed.
The bolts for the U-joint worked their way loose and the U-joint came free from the transmission. I did use the proper clip and bent the tabs over, but the bolts came loose anyway.

The yoke is some what mangled. Does anyone know where I have find a replacement yoke?

I could try to working over the yoke in the photo but I don't know if I could ever fully trust it.

Many years ago I bought one from Jim Carter Truck Parts and from Chevs of the 40s.

Your ad in the Swap Meet might get a response.

They have been kind of hard to find lately, I had an extra but sold it to a guy in the land down under a few months ago. He was on the hunt for one for quite awhile.

Might try these guys , spendy but complete:

Jim Carters' used parts department is closed because of "Kung Fu" flu. I suppose I could try again and plead with them.

Good News

I decided to take the u-joint yoke to a driveline shop to see what they can do. They said that they could recondition the yoke by welding the gouged out spots and make the u-joint bushings seats flat again.
Where I do not seem to have any other option they are currently working on it. I suspect this process will take a day or two.

It will make it so I can bolt the u-joint to the yoke. I will use thread-locker compound and safety-wire it to prevent this from happening again.

Best place to find one of those is in a junkyard. Very hard part to locate. When I did my 3-speed to 4-speed swap in my 3100, that part stopped me dead in my tracks. Luckily, a fellow Stovebolt member picked up a chassis/driveline that had the yoke still intact, and sent the yoke and clips/bolts to me.
