Who says you need to do that at all?

This might influence your decision. Heavy modifications, lead to more heavy mods and then the snowball can be hard to control. I’ve been there and done that. I had a lot of fun going stock (ish) with my ole GMC 1 ton.

So, I'm guessing you don't want any kind on MII kit. Judging by your screen name, you're a Vette fan. With that being said, Progressive Automotive has kits that use C4 equipment. Scott's Hot Rods have their own proprietary kit. Fatman also have kits that use late model components vs. MII.

Had a Corvette rebuild shop until C4 cars and later came then switched to other cars and then to salvage yard. Now retired doing old trks and cars as a hobby. Doing 51 5 window my wife wants. Just can't seem to be comfortable with mustang parts maybe ok but hoped something else is doable and reasonable.

The term "Mustang II" or Pinto is like the term "Crescent" is to an adjustable wrench. The current offerings share NOTHING with the original Ford offerings. No folded tin cross member, no stamped upper A-frame and lower control arm, no strut rod, absolutely zilch. The present quality kits with moly tubing and spread lower A-frame are many times stronger than most factory full size components. With that said we tend to use front frame clips with the CORRECT track widths as all the engineering, engine mounts, motor mounts, brake and steering system is already in place. The main picadillo with this is designing a core support so all front sheet metal aligns. Other options are the Dakota, Aspen/Volare, and LTD. Have not done those but have seen others. Have done Corvette and Jaguar which worked out well but requires a deep "C" notch in frame horn which is no problem if the truck isn't being used with a push bumper. A trip to a junkyard with a tape measure should yield something that will work.
