I’m looking at re-building the rear drum brakes on my 59, 3100 Apache. I am missing everything. I have purchased new drums, cylinders, hoses, shoes, spring kit, etc. I’m still looking for push rods and levers. I ordered some from a vintage truck parts yard and the push rods he sent me were rusted very badly and pitted deep. The levers were laser cut flat bar..... not sure what to think as I have nothing to compare them too. . I do have new adjuster screws but would like to compare them to original or get original self adjusters as well. Can you still get new push rods and levers? Any help would be appreciated.

I am in the Red a Deer Alberta area. Photo attached is what I’m starting with

Aside from the shoes, springs, shoe retainers and the slave cylinders, I have not found a vender that has new parts available. I would place an ad in “Truck Parts Wanted“ in this forum and look on eBay for NOS. I don’t know if my ‘52 3100 has the same brakes, but I’m sure that they are similar, so I’ll post some pictures.

Maybe some fellow “Bolters” could supply the proper names and part numbers to help you in finding the parts.

Edit: I see you already posted in the forum!

I've heard that brakes are the same from '51 thru '72 on half ton trucks. The shoes and drums are the same, and hardware are likely as well.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
