I finally got the ___ thing bolted on and tightened down. GM Performance Parts needs some real upgrading in personnel. The instructions would have been clearer if written in Greek. The hardware must have been packaged for a Conestoga wagon. You expect sheet metal et al mfg in China to need refab work done on it, not American material. Oh well…

Well, at least you got it bolted up. Does it look like the belt will track properly? What did you find out about the waterpump?

The engine came with a water pump attached; however it was not a reverse pump that was required on the Serpentine system. That pump was in the big box with all the parts. Now I have an extra water pump.
There are two brackets, one attached to each exhaust manifold. The one on the right side has no bolt to fit. According to the instructions it attached to the back of the compressor with a stud. The pack came with two studs and neither one will fit here. It’s nuts but after spending 4,700 bucks I will need to visit a nut, bolt, and screw retailer to finish it off. I am afraid to put the belt on because the brackets are not set yet and it might put too much stress on the pulleys.

I have never used those stupid rod braces. Most of my serp systems came from S10's so those were made to fit the goofy exhaust manifolds. I definately understand your point, with that kinda money they should have come and dropped the motor in your truck for you and brought a 6 pack of beer!

Honestly, I never run those braces because they won't reach with hedders and I'm too lazy to make a set. I even ran a serp system in my race truck without them and have never had a problem.

If everything lines up and but you just need a bolt then I'd use them. However, if they don't reach, you can get away with out them.

Same as 51 here, I used the braces I could, but some did not fit. No worries, the main alum brackets do the most. Brian
