has anyone put a 350 with a 4sp tranning in 1946 truck?if so i would like to hear from you thanks tony

I once dropped a 327 and TH350 in a '53 Ford F100. Also installed a 12 bolt posi in the same truck. Used a Hurst prefabricated front motor mount and had to fab rear mounts and tranny crossmember. Used a piece of rectangular tubing cut on an angle to bolt the Hurst mount to. Boxed a 24 inch section of frame where the front motor mount went and welded in the cut tubing. Installed the rear end with coil springs and a four link kit from Summit Racing. Had to fab the spring perches. Summit carries alot of easily adaptable mounts. I did that 23 years ago when I was 16.

You will have to relocate the brake and clutch linkage which bolts up to the bellhousing... no ez way to get the stock bellhousing to mount up to a 350.

i thouth the the 235 and the v8 used the same bellhousing?

I may be wrong, but I believe the 230, 250, 292 bellhousing will bolt up to a 350. The 216, 235, 261 bellhousings are interchangeble amoung themselves, and across the line to the gmc 228, 248, 270, and 302. They are not interchangeble with the v-8s however.

Most people who do the 350 swap also drop in a TH350 or 700R4 transmission. I like the idea of a 4 speed or 5 speed in there. It is still possible to do what you want, but you will have to fabricate a little bit more...

You may be able to find a bellhousing that is set up for a hydraulic clutch. Then you can get after market pedals that mount under the dash for the brake and clutch.

There are several bolters in the sac area with deco pickups (1941-1946). I'm sure you will find plenty of help. There are also several here on the bolt who are more knowledgeable than I am. Sit tight and I'm sure a few more replies will come in.

My 250 bell housing bolted right up to my 350 (1972 motor) and of course the four speed fit right behind like it should.

Are you planning to put a 4-speed truck or car transmission in? I put a 283 in my 46 this last year but I used a TH350. The engine fit like a glove. I used 55 265 V8 Exhaust manifolds. They will clear the stock steering box just fine.

Looks like I'm the closest one that has what your looking for. '46 1/2T Panel, 350ci/TH400. The only problem it's not on the road yet but everything is in place with out to many problems. What are you looking for as far as that goes?
