Will I have to trim my inter fenders to fit around the spring towers on the Mustang II kit on my 51 ??
Im not finished installing the steering linkage yet and Im still a little ways from putting the metal back on, I was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with this before ?
Thanks
Todd

Yeah, you'll have to trim out the inner fenders a little. I just put mine up there and marked where they needed to be cut out and then cut a little at a time 'til I cut out enough.

I didn't have to trim my inner fenders with my Mustang II installation. They did just fit though. I used a TCI kit for our 53 1/2 ton.

I have read discussions on this topic from time occasionally it is mentioned how it is much easier to install fenders if you bolt up the inner fenders and grill etc. first. Has anyone here got an opinion on this?

Big Chevy, We had the fenders, inner fenders and radiator support as a unit. Worked real well. Didn't have the grille on it though. Took 4 people to line it up though. We taped all edges not to scratch the paint.

should you find that you do need to trim the inners
you may want to add/ fasten to the inners some sort of heavy rubber type sheet of material so as to block out debris and allow the IFS to fully float up and down

I think its going to be minimum.. if any (about a 1/4") just around the spring tower. That's a good idea with the rubber
Thanks
