Hey guys, I bought an 81, C-10 stepside SWB to swap out on my 57. Has anyone ever heard or done a swap using this frame. I thought I read someone had done this swap on here before? Thanks!

you wouldn't be meaning an S10 would you. I've seen a couple of threads on that kind of swap.

Hey revedup I have a 76 c-10 I am thinking about cutting the front suspension from for my 55 2nd series. I have found where one guy did this swap at www.webrodder.com/article.php. If you find any more info let me know I will probably start getting the 76 to the shop this weekend for the get down measuring to see how well the front ends will match up. Thanks for any info 552ndser

Check out these two links:

1. C-10 frame swap under a TF
2. Chevy truck frame dimensions and specs

I would like to do this swap someday.

I used to have a 57 that had a 72 GM front clip welded onto it. It's another option if you can find a 72 frame to cut up.

Here's a link to the webrodder article.

It describes a fairly complex job of grafting a C-10 IFS onto a TF. I would rather clip the front end or replace the frame before I do this. It seems like a lot of work to me.

Thank you Ezekiel I didn't get that one right. I thought that looked pretty extensive. But that is the only one I have found so far on the web.
