Hoping to get a little help from the experts, my knowledge base is very narrow.
My wife inherited this '46 a couple of years ago and I know a lot of the hardware isn't original but I'm trying to figure out how to get some hub caps that are more like the originals "should be". Right now it has hubcaps that look like corvette maybe?
The diameter that the hubcaps snap into is 7". I ordered some from Jim Carter thinking it was standard but the diameter of the "snap-in" on the hubcaps I received is about 7.5"
Are there hubcaps of the correct style available that will fit these rims? Or would I have to replace the rims too? they are 5 lug which I think is not original??

Thanks,
Marc

The ‘46 Chevy 1/2 tons typically used 6.00 X 16 tires, 16” rims, and were 6 lug. 15 inch artillery wheels were an option, but also were 6 lug. I don’t recall off hand when Chevrolet started using 5 lug wheels. As for the hubcaps, maybe one of the classic tire vendors, such as Coker, Universal or similar will have caps that will fit?

Right. I don't know what the hubs and axle are underneath this '46. Doing a little more research, I think these might be chevy "rally wheels" and they are 15".

Chevy, and probably GMC started using 5 lugs on 2wd trucks probably in '70's, 6 lug on 4wd trucks.

Those are rally wheels. They were used on Corvette's, and just about all models of Chevy's in the 60's and 70"s.
That truck has been converted to later model front hubs and likely a later rear end. They are likely a 5 x 4 3/4" bolt pattern.
There are no stock 46 hub caps that are going to fit those wheels. Aftermarket wheel suppliers like Wheelsmith and Vintique can provide modified stock hub caps to fit the later wheels. I personally think they look good on just about any car or truck.
