Is there something wrong with the one in the photo? If it's turned the wrong way in the offset hole in the extension housing, it might not be getting engaged with the spiral gear teeth on the output shaft. Try contacting FATSCO transmission parts. They've been my "go to" source for Hydra-matic parts for close to 40 years.
