We got a 49 3800 panel the other day and need to replace the bed strips.(been busy sanding the straight metal down to metal for respray)
looked at the normal sources and talked to the rep. at "Jim Carter" I'm looking for bed wood 9 strips and the metal strips for anchoring them that are 113" long.(not sure if this is available it looks like 107" is longest) They recommended that I reach out here. I did a search and didn't see a thread that dealt with the source of the "extra long" bed wood and steel strips.
second ?? would be, if these are not available can the rear section be shortened and the cab floor be extended to reduce the wood length.
Any help would be well received. If this has been answered I couldn't find so sorry in advance if that is the case.

As far as the metal strips, check with Mar-K (Phone (844) MAR-K844.) They manufacture them for the pickups and they may be able to supply longer ones that you need. They may even list them in their catalog. Here's their worksheet for custom bed strips if they don't stock what you need. Custom Bed Strip form

They're the go-to guys for bed stuff. I stopped by there last spring for some stuff for my '51. Road trip to avoid shipping charges, although it wasn't 'free' it was a combo vacation parts gathering trip.
