Does anyone know a source for one of these?
I’m fairly new to the site and have never replaced an exhaust system before.

I used Waldron's on my 51 3100, complete exhaust from manifold to rear....every piece and part fit exact, all the clamps and hangers came with it, muffler looked like the original. A shade higher than what a local muffler shop wanted to do a complete system for, but I preferred the clamps and original looking hangers and muffler also. Very satisfied with what I got from them.

The Exhaust Pipe is a one year only, but is the same for ALL 1949 trucks (exc COE). As others have said, any old muffler shop should have the "bend cards" to make your pipes. I may have them if all else fails, but check your local shop first. Buy one, and take to a skilled exhaust shop who can mandrel-bend the exhaust pipe, and route it right to where you want it to exit. Take a couple of pictures for them to reference.
If you want to hear what the original muffler sounds like, PM me, I have a couple of good exhaust clips using the Jim Carter muffler.

| | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,904 | You should try to make the exhaust as quite as possible. Then you can start tracking down other noises one at a time for as long as you own the truck. At least, that's what I'm doing.
1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.

I tried 3 before I was happy. First two too loud...lol
