Hi,
So bed is finished and now it is onto fenders, running-boards and rear splash guard. There seems to be little info on the splash guards. Is there a correct order to put these together and how do the splash guards go in? WHat do they bolt to? In opening the boxes yesterday, the running boards the previous owner bought are fiberglass so not sure if that complicates or makes easier. There are no holes in the bed so any advice on how to line up the fender will be helpful.
thanks,
Nils

Hello Nils
My truck is a 46 and I have fiberglas rears and running boards with a repo Mar-K steel bed. I don't really don't know about the rear splash nor have heard about them but that don't mean
that they don't exist so I can't comment on those. I had my front end install and I matched the bed holes up to frame on 2 1/4 blocks then clamped the running boards into place and installed rear fenders into place approx. 7 1/4 " at the rear from bottom of bed. Everything lined up fairly well. Mine is still ripped apart after 16 years so maybe someone has a newer more recent explanation/experience. Have fun and good luck. Your son will remember.

Hi Gene,
I am back. So the running board bolts I purchased just do not fit. I am wondering if it is because of the fiberglass vs metal. Would it be possible to take a picture or just let me know what size/type bolt you used to connect the running boards to the hangers? thanks, Nils

Hi All,
I have a question on the frame. What does this mount do? It is under the front of the cab with about 1/8" space between the top and the cab. It also has one hole in it. One picture is the mount(they are on both sides). One is me pointing to where it is located and the other shows that it is just in front of the front running board bracket. I have no rubber pad or anything that goes on it? Any idea?
thanks,
Nils
