Years ago I did the Mustang II front suspension and mono leaf springs and QA1 shocks in the rear , i've never been real happy with the mono leaf springs ride. I'm not looking to raise or lower it anymore , it sits just right now, it measures about 2 inches between the edge of the fender to the top of the rim.
What I was wondreing is what all you guys have tried for rear suspension and liked or disliked?
I'm open for anything, air bags, coilover, 4 bar, new leaf springd under the axle ?
I don't use my truck for hauling much weight mabey 500 lbs.
Tell me what ya think , Gene | | | | | Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,464 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,464 | If you still have the stock rear springs you can remove 2 or 3 leaves, (like maybe 1,2, and 4 counting from the axle up), that will bring it down about 2" from stock. If you need more drop than that you can take the modified springs to a spring shop and for less than $100 get them dearched to whatever ride height you want. This will really soften up the ride. You can run air shocks if you plan on carrying much of a load. They are dearched with reversed eyes. Truck sits just right now.
Just looking for suggestions on other types of suspension setups other people have tried for the rear of their pickups
