Very cool. There's a lot of metal fab in that truck that's for sure.

Hello, sorry for the late reply, the truck is powered by a BB chevy major mistake(cant fit a air cleaner and cab gets too hot)and a th400 with a dana 70 in the rear.
I cant put smaller wheels because it is too low as it sits now,I would like to go to air bag suspension to get a better ride.here are some pics.

Look up ez cool insulation. I have it on the floor of my 57 LCf and you can t even feel any heat. My engine is completely under the cab. Its pretty cheap and I put two layers on the floor. I did not have it on the engine cover at first and the wife burnt her foot on it. Now not a bit of heat. Your truck looks cool and very well put together.....

Hello Nick, Nice looking LCF. I have a '57 Chevrolet LCF 5700 custom cab. I bought it last November, & have started a frame-off. Plans are to put a Holmes Wrecker body on it. I have the frame done, new 350 c.i. with a TH475 trans. All of the sheetmetal is bead blasted and ready to start the body work. Right now I'm trying to find 22.5" Alum. wheels...6 hole. No luck yet!

Good luck on the wheels. It took me a year to find a set and they cost me 2 grand. Alco has not made them since the 80s. They sure look nice though.

What size are your rims? I have a 59 LCF on a 1973 C30 chassis and was thinking about 19.5 rims. Would they look to small in you opinion?

Depends on how tall the tires are on the 19.5 wheels, but most agree they look to small. You also didn't say which series your LCF is...that can also make a difference and what your final plan is since it's sitting on a 1-ton frame.

Post some pictures so we are looking at what you're looking at...

19.5's look undernourished on our trucks.
