When I went to turn it off I found fire coming from the start capacitors. The motor was a replacement from about 10 years ago. So, I’ve spent the past few days rebuilding the compressor. New pressure safety switch/valve and new motor. Both came in today and I installed them this evening. Need to get a new belt and a Electrical Cutoff Switch, wiring and armored cable to hard wire the unit. Should be up and running by the weekend. It will be good to put the 6 gallon pancake compressor back on the shelf.

I tried to do a temporary repair with Harbor Freight parts, but it couldn't keep up. New IR is in place and hopefully the last compressor I will ever need to buy! | | |
