There are several tech tips on this site that address adapting a 235 to your application. The year the 235 was manufactured makes a big difference in how much modification is required.

To directly answer your question, no the “135” will not fit in the ‘60 without easy modifications. Now to answer the question you really meant to ask, yes the 235 will fit in your ‘46 with easy modifications. From the title, I thought the poster had gotten stopped doing 135 in a 60 mph zone and I wanted to see who in their right mind would be anywhere near an AD truck going 135 mph.

Jerry Yes sorry a 235. It came out of a 60 chevy truck. I know they changed engine mounts to side mounts but didn't know what year chevy did that. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,778 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,778 | There's still an option to front-mount the later model engines, since the earlier mounts were incorporated into the steel separator plate between the block and the timing cover. You can either install an earlier separator plate, or drill holes in the later one for the early mounts.
