I got a 465 trans from I believe a 68 C70 for my 65 C60. The old cable is done for. I've looked and as close as I've been able to find is one for a 79 model. It has a hook on the end where it hooks to the shoe. Mine pictured has a round end on it. Is there a new parts source for these? Also can new springs and shoes be found? I also need a new Vacuum control cable the handle end of mine broke off. I see I can get a new brake cable handle assembly. Where are those style brake handles located on these? Of course cable length will make a big difference.

Hy Case_man, If you could tell us the length of the cable you require we may be able to find it by length, they are listed in group 4.779 in the parts book. I'll keep looking and see what else I can find.

The old cable was cut off to about 4 foot and ruined. I got this transmission already pulled out of the truck from a salvage yard. I can't seem to find the cable I mentioned I found it this morning on my phone I need to look back on there for it. But I did find a Raybestos BC97441 that looks like I could make fit. I looked and found a pic of a 74 C60 and the brake handle was located on the left side up against the wall. Thanks for the help and any info you can find. I sure appreciate the help.

Sometimes those cables can be fabricated, check with NAPA, over the counter, not on line.

Thanks I will check into that. It looks like there are several ways of getting this thing together.

I looked for an ebrake cable for my 72 c50 to no avail. they had "ceased being produced " was what I was told by nearly all sources, I even contacted a company that would make them to my specifications, big $$$$. I went to a military surplus store and the guy asked me to describe what I needed, he goes into his cave like ware house and brings out a MilSurp cable that was an exact duplicate except it was about 4" longer, $10. I hope you have better luck and find a supplier, please post Name and part # if you do. Good luck!

I bought a Dorman C95088 cable for mine. Of course originally mine had the old style brake handle linkage on that SM420. I mounted the Dorman brake handle under the dash to the left of the glove box.
