Good Morning bsarts - the motor is worn out. I got to run as well as it could, replaced the carburetor, and adjusted the valves. It starts idles and I don't hear any real scary noises. The compression is very low on most cylinders and the motor is blown-by. So --- I am going to remove the motor (and transmission) and rebuild it stock. The overall goal is to make the truck as stock as I can within a reason. I learned to drive on a 61' very similar to this one (my Grandfather's truck) so for me, it's a bit of a time machine. Thanks and have a great day. gpk1961

Cool! Glad to see you want to keep it stock. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
