Howdy folks,
Hope everyone is doing well - working through the list here, getting closer every day to putting this old girl back on the road.

The rear lever shocks on my '49 3600 are there, but not hooked up and one of the connecting arms appears cut (see attached photos). They are not seized and seem to have full range of motion, and bounce back with force. So, I want to hook them up but I'm not 100% certain everything is there.

From looking at the fronts it looks like the assembly from the lever to the lower mount is simply a steel rod with a fork and clevis pin connector on the one end and a threaded lower end, with what looks similar to stabilizer end link bushings on either side. So my questions are:

1) am I right in my above assumption on the assembly? and
2) Any chance someone knows or could measure the length of the rod? I'll have to fabricate one or both of these

here is some pictures of rear shocks from my truck (36 GMC) and later model Chevy (51) Also is picture of the bottom bracket to attach the connecting arm. Jim Carer sells the connecting arms, but not difficult to make.

I've never done the homework to determine the original factory configuration, but mine had bolts/nuts rather than clevis pins, and they appeared to be unmolested when I bought the truck. I attached a picture of one of my front shocks. There's a rubber bushing inside the end of the lever arm with a steel sleeve that the bolt goes thru.

I can go get the measurements for you later this morning. Do you need just the rear, or the front also?

Did the best I could to get you dimensions, without tearing everything apart. I think the most critical dimension you already have, based on your pictures. It would be from the pivot point down to the "bump" in the rod that prevents the bushing washer from sliding up. The remainder of the length doesn't seem critical, and depending on the thickness of the bushings you use, just sticks out. I've attached a few pictures that might help. It looks like the rod is 10" long.
