Hi All, I'm stripping down my cab so I can paint it. I can't figure out how to removed the light switch. It looks like it's welded in place. I'm also having trouble with the glove box latch. I have no key.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the light switch, behind the front of the dash, is a spring loaded button. Push that and your knob with stem will come out. The you can unscrew the bezel and remove the switch.

Sometimes, on old locks, you can put a key the roughly fits, jiggle it around, and unlock it.

If you have the glove box lock that goes above the door, there will be a clutch head screw holding a sleeve over the lock. Remove that screw (from behind the dash) and the sleeve can be removed. As far as a key, if you're lucky, the key for the glove box will be the same as the door, and you can find the key code stamped on the door lock near the lock shaft after removing that lock. Let me know the code and I may be able to help out with a key cut pattern.
What Mark said about finding a key that roughly fits, I was able to do that with the ignition switch that I had no key for. Once I was able to get the cylinder out, there was the code that was slightly different than the one on the key that I used to remove the cylinder.

I couldn't figure out the light switch removal either. Stumbled onto a website...how simple. I ran into the same puzzler when I was trying to work on the door lock. How do you get the retaining clip on it. I was preparing to remove the door handle when another website bailed me out...a slot in the door under the weather strip!
