Is there a kit available to convert the truck to an open driveline? I see quite a few kits available for Ford banjo rear ends but nothing for Chevrolet...Another thought I had was to source the parts from a 39 (GMC) 1.5 ton truck to make the conversion... I understand that the transmissions are the same (4 speed) but the rear end is actually different... Still you could at least source out:
1- Rear transmission cover 2- Rear Yoke 3- Driveshaft 4-Center bearing
The issue would be the front differential cover and yoke plus the ring and pinion... BUT if there is at least a kit for a 6 bolt (10 spline?) Chevy differential this may be doable with the other GMC parts? Any help appreciated here...
