'56 GMC F350. I really don't know much about 2 speed rears. There's a switch in the dash with pipes coming off the back. 2 go straight thru the firewall and to the axle but the 3rd, which is smaller in diameter, heads under the dash and has a cap on it. Should that one be connected to a vacuum somewhere? maybe manifold?

That one is supposed to power a vacuum-shifted gearbox somewhere in the speedometer cable housing or maybe on the back of the speedometer head to change the ratio so the speedo is accurate in both rear end ratios.

There should also be a vacuum line to the vacuum source and there could also be a port for fresh air coming off of the air cleaner if I remember correctly.
