I am almost to the point of removing the engines, but, since this is my first time, I was wondering; what bolts do I remove to disconnect the engine from the transmission and/or bell housing?

They are a '50 and '53 3-ton GMC's.

Hy Alex Arrow, to disconnect the transmission there are four bolts which attach it to the engine bellhousing, two are at the top of the transmission and can be accessed from the top of the transmission, the other to have to be accessed from the inside of the engine bellhousing at the bottom, if the stamped steel cover is still on the bottom of the bellhousing it must be removed to access the bolts which go from the inside of the bellhousing into the transmission, all those bolts are 1/2" bolts and will have a 3/4" head on them. There are two bolts which hold the bellhousing to the frame mounts, these are vertical one on each side and they are also 1/2" bolts I believe, hope that helps.

And if you want to remove the bellhousing from the engine, remove the flywheel to access the 2 upper bolts.

Also,... Not sure if this is the case with all transmissions, but the lower two transmission bolts on mine are below gear oil level, so have a drain pan ready when you pull them.

Best Regards...
