Drug home a 47 COE a couple weeks ago. It has a dump bead. Planning on keeping it stock for awhile and putting it to work around the house until I finish some other projects. One thing I need though is a pic of somebody's complete hood latch. Mine has just the levers that show on the outside and the hooks on the inside. They are missing something that will grab the hooks. If I see what a complete latch looks like, I may be able to fabricate the missing parts.

I have some carburetor parts on order. Brakes are just so so. I have found out that it has a 5-speed Clark tranny (no OD). Dump bed is operated by cable instead of a lever so I'm not sure what type it is yet. It also has a 2-speed axle.This is my first big bolt so I've got some learning to do. The ID plate inside the door is missing so not sure about some of the details but stickers on the side of the door say 22,000 GVW. Supposedly was a farm truck in Eastern Washington for most of it's life. When I get my shop finished I'll get it inside and get it road worthy again.
Thanks Spanky!!! I should be able to make that missing rod and spring for it with the pics and drawing. Does the top of the big "C" spring have a "hook" that goes into a hole at the top of the catch rod?
Rusty, original color is green almost the same color as my '53 Studebaker 1/2 ton. The truck belonged to a company called Gray's Construction for a while. I'm assuming they are the ones that did the grey paint over everything.
Glenn, I'd love to put a roll-back bed on it so I can bring more cars home.
