I just put a clutch in my truck FRANKEN so i removed the trans and took the shifter out of the trans to take it out of the way . THE pins in the cone that hold the shifter in place seem to me to be way to loose. Can anybody tell me if they are to be pressed in tight or can they wobble .The hold down clamp that is spring loaded does its job when you press it down to lock the shifter in . I've fixed that problem by threading the holes and putting a short bolt in from each side, and grinding the end threads off for a snug fit where the shifter pivots. A Grade 8 bolt will last a long time in an application like that, and if it wears, it's replaceable.
