I purchased a new motor from one of the on-line suppliers and had the old motor swapped out with the new motor.
The fan has three speeds (low, medium and high) plus OFF. I noticed that when I turn the switch on it is in the high setting and turning it clockwise makes the fan go to the low setting. Should the speed not be on low when it is first turned on and then to high as the knob is turned clockwise? The way it operates seems backwards.
Just asking.
Thanks,

That assumes there are 4 wires to the motor. If there are only two, there are resistors in the switch. Did the original motor work the way you want? If you had someone do the work, it sounds like they wired it incorrectly if the operation is different than original.

When I got the truck back from the restoration shop and used it several times, it seemed to work the way you described. Then the motor died, so I bought a replacement and had the new one installed by the restoration shop. Unfortunately that shop is not very responsive to emails and returning phone calls, but I have located other individuals in my area that can help me correct issues with this truck like this motor and the power booster on the disc breaks I had installed no longer returns correctly. That is another story. My thought exactly, they wired it backwards.
Thanks for giving me your input. | | |
