Hi all
Hope everyone is good and working hard on the toys. I thought I should log on to see what people are doing, and to up date my 42 chev truck.
Alot has happened starting with the fact that I found another engine from a 43 3/4 ton truck, it needed a full rebuild and turn out a sweet running little
engine. I am so HAPPY to say that the truck has been finnished about 2 ago years and is so much fun to drive. So many people like the truck because I kept it as original
as possible, and had stories of there own, like there dad had one, or they learn to drive in on years ago. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE
About 12 months ago I finally got to meet the son (Graham) of the original owner. His dad, (Joseph who has since passed away) brought the truck back in 1945 approx and last
year Graham came to see the truck and was so happy to see it in such good condition. He brought some photos of the truck in its early days on the farm just out side a little
town just south Toowoomba QLD. After talking for some time he filled me in on what the truck was used for on the farm (which was any thing from carrying bags of produce
to market,or collecting rocks from paddocks for next years crops to taking sheep/pigs to market sales. What ever was needed. I now how very good time line from when the
truck was built in 1942 to now, me being the 3rd owner.
I would to thank every one for there help and information with the restoration of such a wonderful old truck, and a small piece of trucking history
Kind regards Justin
