There are 3 terminals on the original ignition switch on 47 Chevy truck. One goes to the Battery post on the voltage regulator, one connects the coil and gas gauge, and one is not connected to anything. How do you tell which is which? Also my gas gauge slams to full when turn the key. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any advice! David P.s. I am rewiring my panel with the lesser expensive harness from Jim Carter. It’s a nice unit but the instructions leave a lot to the imagination of a wiring impaired installer like me.
I had the same question with my ‘52 chevy 3100. It wasn’t hooked up on my truck. I ohm'd it out and when the ignition is switched on (and it’s only a two position switch, off/on) both terminals are powered. I suppose the accessory terminal is for a lighter or maybe the radio.
