Sorry if this is a frequently asked question, but what's the best way to clean the rust or coat the inside of a 1959 gas tank? It's out of the truck and I've gotten the loose chunks out. No leaks yet, so what can I do to either neutralize what rust is left or coat the inside so I'm not plugging the fuel filter? Thanks for the help!

A new tank is priceless in terms of piece of mind.

The last tank was my 1965 C10 tank. I used the KBS tank cleaning and coating system and the whole process went very well. I’m very pleased and have had no problems. It takes time and you will use acid and chemicals. A new tank is not a bad deal and saves time. Depends on your skill set, available time and budget. | | |
