Hello, I'm getting ready to restore a 1955 2nd gmc to original. On the nterior paint is value detracted when painted body color? Many folks do it cuz it looks good but what does it do for valye and desireability for a sale?

It does not increase/enhance the price, compared to painting it original colors.

You will never be able to say "painted/restored" to original.

I've had vehicles that are essentially the same color everywhere... I didn't care for that much. I think that there should be some other color to break up the single color.

Agree ! If my green turd was also green inside, it would be way too much green.

CMayna, My burb is all white, but that is offset by rust, primer and mouse ickies. I'm changing the interior door panels to a gray color for now, but not really sure yet.

Hands-down silver for the interior. And please paint the running boards black, I see those painted the body color far too often smile

Good choice Matt! The kids need to know how they came from the factory. I don't mind so much if they are painted body color everywhere, but if somebody wants me to spend any time looking at their ride, they'd better have some original flavor for me to see.

my opinion is I don't like the "all one color" look. My truck is Seacrest Green on the outside and a milk chocolate on the inside. Not factory, but it looks nice.

I recommend Eastwood for interior paint.

I don't know about Eastwood. I use English Paint here in Dallas, but on the running boards please consider painting with catalyzed (hardened) paint. 10, 15 or 30 years later you'll be glad you did. As for colors, you're on the right track. I've done it both ways. You get really tired of the same color everywhere and the Chevy folks knew that.
