Not sure I am in the right section for this question, but here we go. I have put Speedway motors bolt in Mustang II front Suspension in to my 1948 GMC 1/2 ton pickup truck, question I have, and need help with, is can anyone here advise me on which year steering column would work in my truck, I have been looking at One around late 80's middle 90's GMC/Chevy steering column. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Mike.
I'm curious as to what issues if any did you encounter with your IFS. I'm close to doing the same with my '50 3100. I'll be watching your post to see what others recommend for a steering column...I'll be needing one also.
Many use the Ididit aftermarket steering columns but on my '51-3100 I wanted to keep my original steering wheel and column. I opted for the Billet Steering Column Saver from Classic Performance Products, Inc. (CPP). It was pretty straight forward, easy to follow instructions and worked well with the Borgeson u-joints and D-D steering shafts to mate up to the rack and pinion unit. You may want to look into it? Good luck!
