Can anyone help me id these two heaters, both came as extra parts with my project but neither were installed. The first looks mostly complete the second not so much. Any info you guys can give would be great.
First two photos are the first heater, second two are the second heater, third photo is the first heater again(sorry for out of order)

Here is a picture of the one heater from 1942. That heater was produced by Harrison, interestingly it lived on with Willys Jeeps for several years.

I looked through 1937-1946 Chevrolet Truck Data Books and there is no detail. On the other heater I have never seen one but there were numerous aftermarket heaters available in that time period.

What is the year, model, and make (GMC or Chevrolet) of your truck?

My truck is a 53 Chevy 3600, just trying to determine weather one of these would work in my truck

The correct style of heaters for a '53 are below (the Air-Flow would have an inner dump door also shown). That being said if functional either of yours would work, personal choice prevails.

Thanks for the info guys, any idea what a rebuildable air-flow would run me?

There is a Air Flow / Recirculating heater for sale over in the eBay and Craiglists Links forum pretty good price for $100 bucks..

There were really three heaters that were widely used in Advance Design Trucks.

(#1) Recirculating (only) round type heater 1947-55 1st series (round heater core) defrost to floor air control was done manually using a lever located on the heater box. A three speed fan motor switch was used.

(#2) 1947-52 Air flow non-recirculating (no doors) (rectangular heater core) The air flow only non-recirculating heater has a cable control, that opens or closes a door, for defrost or floor heat. (#3) 1953-55 1st series Air Flow / Recirculating (with doors) (rectangular heater core, same as # 2) The air flow / recirculating heater has a cable control, that opens or closes doors, to recirculate cabin air or bring in and heat outside air. (keeps windows from fogging up. The defrost to floor air control was done manually using a lever located on the heater box. A two speed fan motor switch was used. The Air flow non-recirculating (no doors) and the Air Flow / Recirculating (with doors) heaters, are virtually the same and mount to the kick panel the same way.

There is a in cab temperature control valve used on heaters #2 & #3

Just a note there are quite a few pieces to the Air-Flow so buy as complete a set-up as possible. Here is a picture series for a NOS I owned some years back.

Those flat Delco-Remy or Arkless switches can run $50 and up all on their own if you decide to go OEM.

Kinda makes me think, that is something you would see hanging in the cab, in a Dealer's showroom...
I wouldn't doubt that some dealers installed the heaters, in the trucks, that were on display in their showroom.
If I were a dealer back then I would of.
