Is this a 47-53 cab with a 54;55 first series windshield?

What does the dash look like? The point at the top of the cab rules out '54-55.1

I seen this last month on the web and took a picture of the roof it was a Chevy with the early grill . I can’t find it on the web anymore but it was for sale in a showroom setting .

Found it at autabuy.com it is a 53 chev still don’t understand the window maybe just because it is reflection and don’t see the divider.

It may be one of those custom one piece windows that were bent in the center to eliminate the center support. I’ve seen it before on some really high end customs.

Chevys of the 40’s has them for sale. Not cheap though!

I saw that too. I wonder what needs to be modified. I wonder if there’s a place you can get one that just fit’s.

In truth, I like the split windshield. It’s part of my ‘52’s character and I would never change it.

I found another on Brother’s website that doesn‘t have that warning.
One Piece Windshield

I like the divider bar also but my truck is a 54 has the one piece window ,for Christmas I found the outer stainless for the doors so when I seen this I thought maybe the stainless for the windows are the same except for were it joins at the divider .thinking that if they were the same shape they may work on a 54 with a piece of stainless to join it were the divider hides the join on the two piece window

I wouldn’t think they are the same shape. The ‘53 and earlier have completely flat windshields and I think your ‘54 is curved all the way thru.

I like the way the stainless trim looks too. It might be in my truck’s future too.

My understanding is that the 54 & 55 cab was redesigned to remove the peak, thus enabling the use of a single, flat piece of glass for the windshield.

As far as modifying the 47-53 cab for a one piece windshield, the bare minimum would be cutting out the divider bar. I'm not sure if anything else would be necessary.

The pinchweld perimeter would need to be be massaged to match the curve of the '54-'55 glass.

I cant think of anything worse than having a pinchweld massage.

We have done several and the only thing we do is remove the center divider bar and smooth up with a disc grinder/Dremel tool. Much prefer using a 53 style front clip on a 54 cab. No leaks or wind noise if a Steele gasket is used. Truck is a 1948 3100.

probably just a one piece windshield kit starting to see a lot on vintage cars, my first on a truck, but why not?
